Choosing a Title

A good title should accomplish two things:

1. identify your topic
2. give some hint about your thesis

The following pattern is often useful:

Title: Subtitle

You could also put the subtitle on a separate line, like this:

Title:
Subtitle

Study the following examples:

• Global Warming    (bad title)
• Global Warming: An Insidious Threat to All Life on Earth    (much better title)
• The Harmful Consequences of Global Warming    (also a decent title)
