Clean Up Your Gmail Inbox

Your Gmail inbox should not be the final resting place for all your old emails. An inbox with thousands of emails is a sign that you are not as organized as you could be.

Whenever you receive an email, you should read it then make a decision:

• Is it something that still requires your attention?
  • If so, leave it in your inbox.
  • If not, delete it.

Some students receive hundreds of emails because Google Classroom sends them notifications every time a teacher updates something on their Google Classroom.

Are these notifications helpful?

• If so, then leave your settings the way they are.
• If not, go to Google Classroom and turn off your notifications. (Ask me if you need help.)

Lesson Steps

1. Go to the waffle and open your Gmail.
2. Clean out your inbox. (Delete any old emails that no longer require your attention.)
