Simplifying Sentences with Participial Phrases
There are two kinds of participial phrases:
- Present:
- Shivering, Maria ran out of the rain and into the house.
- Past:
- Frightened by the loud fireworks, the dog hid under the couch.
Both types of participial phrases can always be canceled or ignored.
