Prefixes: Co- and Sub-
There are two kinds of conjunctions:
- coordinating conjunctions
- subordinating conjunctions
The prefixes "co-" and "sub-" have the following meanings:
co- | = |
together; of equal rank.

sub- | = |
under; below; beneath.
|
- Coordinating conjunctions join clauses "of equal rank."
- Subordinating conjunctions introduce clauses that are "below" or "inferior to" the main clause.
