Tag in the Middle
You can also place the tag between two spoken lines.
"We went to the park," she said. "We had a wonderful time." |
- In this case, just add a second sentence within quotation marks.

"My throat is sore," Lester said. "I can't go to school." "This class is stupid," Naomi said. "It's a waste of time." "He's a dangerous man," said the bartender. "You should stay away from him." "The door is locked," she said. "We're going to have to crawl in through the window." "My dog is sick," he said. "I don't know what to do." |
