Lesson Steps

  1. Open your writing portfolio.
    • Level 14
      • Physical Features
  2. You will see these five sentences:
  1. He was tall, lean, and lanky.
  2. He was athletic, with a square jaw and a dazzling smile.
  3. She had wrinkly skin, a sharp nose, and narrow eyes.
  4. His shoulders were broad; his hands were strong.
  5. Her face was round; her skin was smooth, and her eyes were innocent.
  1. Now replace all the highlighted words with adjectives and nouns of your own. (Use the lists in this lesson).

You can be a bit creative (altering pronouns and other words, as necessary), but try not to alter the sentence patterns too much.

Most importantly, your description should allow me to picture your characters in my mind.

Pay careful attention to the punctuation!
