Don't Get Fixated on Any Single Topic

Every year, I have some students who decide that their blog needs to be about something. For example, they get ideas such as these:

First, I'd like to remind you that your blog shouldn't be about anything other than you. That said, I understand that we all have special interests, and you may want to write more than one post about an interest of yours.

So, for example, if you are on a basketball team, I would naturally expect that you might write several blog posts about your team, the games, and the season.

Likewise, if your hobby is collecting stamps, or anything else, you can certainly write more than one post on that topic. But don't get fixated on it. Remember, I read your posts to learn about you—and I'm sure there's more to you than just your stamp collection.

Key Point:

Try to vary the topics you choose. Don't get fixated on any single topic.
