Week 26
  • Check your grade!
    • We are now finished with the essay unit.
    • The grades you received for your essays can be found on Synergy.
    • If you want feedback on your essays, you must see me in person.
    • If you want me to re-grade one (or both) of your essays, you must let me know, in person or by email!
  • We are now starting a unit on narrative writing.
  • We start this unit by reviewing how to format dialogue. Be extra-careful when writing your lines of dialogue. Punctuation counts!
  • Your next "big" writing assignment is your narrative scene.
  • Your scene should be at least 500 words.
  • Make sure you write your scene in your portfolio! If you don't write your scene in your portfolio, I may accuse you of using ChatGPT or another similar program.
  • Your scene is due by Friday, April 5 (the day before Spring Break).
  • Even though your scene isn't due for another month, you should start working on it right away. (This is going to be a busy month because of state testing and Pheonix Week).
  • Before you start writing your scene, familiarize yourself with the basic requirements.
  • A full explanation of all the requirements can be found under Week 29-A.
  • And don't forget: You need 270 Typing Club stars by the end of the week.
  • When doing Typing Club, make sure to click on the Teddy Bear Course (Tefel Hall's Language Arts Class).

  • Important!
    • This week, everyone must do the ELA Practice Questions.
    • In addition, 11th graders should review these slides and take the ELPAC Practice Test.
    • Next week, 11th graders will take the real test.
    • Next week, cell phones will be collected at the door before you enter the classroom!
